About us

The Gallerist is a sneaker brand by Malte Hallberg and Vilmer Högberg.

Just wear your shoes.

We believe that true elegance is effortless, and that effortlessness requires a little imperfection. The real value of a garment comes from how it reflects the wearer's life. It needs character and patina, which can only be earned by living a life in your clothes.

A wearer should own their clothes, not the other way around.

Perfect, brand-new things are intimidating. They don't encourage participation because of that human anxiety that we might "mess them up." We don't like perfectly crisp white sneakers because they force you to be careful. You dodge puddles and walk stiffly. In that moment, the shoes own you.

The Gallerist exists to reverse this. We believe that to be truly fashionable, you must be comfortable and unapologetically yourself. When you purchase our sneakers, we want you to be eager to use them, not anxious to get them dirty.

You can't "live a life" in shoes that fall apart.

For a sneaker to carry your stories, it has to survive them. Our shoes are crafted to last long enough, both physically and stylistically, to take on the character we talk about.

We reject cheap materials that look good in the box but degrade quickly. Instead, we use full-grain leather. This material is alive; it softens and deepens with age, turning every scuff into a detail rather than a defect.

While many brands use vulcanized rubber soles that eventually peel and separate, we use a robust cup-stitched construction. This ensures the shoe stays structurally sound for the long haul.

We built them this way so you don't have to worry about them. Our quality is the foundation that allows you to be careless.

Wear them hard. Let them get dirty. Make them yours.
